Multilingual Coaching

Yorker supports cricket coaching in multiple Indian languages. You can switch languages at any time and the AI will respond in your preferred language.

How to switch

Tap the language selector in the top navigation bar and choose your preferred language. The change takes effect immediately — your next message and all AI responses will be in the selected language.

How it works

Yorker's multilingual system is designed for cricket:

• Technical terms stay accurate — Cricket-specific terms like "seam position", "front foot", and "cover drive" are translated with proper cricket context, not generic dictionary translations
• Code-switching is natural — You can mix languages (for example, asking in Hindi with some English cricket terms) and the AI will understand
• Drills and plans are fully translated, including exercise names and instructions

Example: Hindi coaching

You: मेरा कवर ड्राइव हवा में जा रहा है, क्या करूँ?

Batting Coach: इसका मतलब है कि contact के समय आपका सिर off side की तरफ़ गिर रहा है, जिससे bat face खुल जाता है। तीन चीज़ें check करें: (1) आपका front foot ball की line में land हो रहा है या outside off? (2) Contact के समय क्या आपकी आँखें level हैं और सिर front knee के ठीक ऊपर है? (3) क्या bottom hand shot को dominate कर रहा है — top hand guide करे।

Notice how cricket terminology (cover drive, front foot, bat face) stays in English or is transliterated naturally, while the explanation flows in Hindi. This mirrors how cricket is actually discussed in India.

Example: Tamil coaching

You: என் outswing ball எப்படி improve பண்ணலாம்?

Bowling Coach: Outswing-க்கு seam position முக்கியம். Ball-ஐ hold செய்யும்போது seam batsman-ன் off stump-ஐ point செய்யணும். Wrist position upright-ஆ maintain பண்ணுங்க — release-ல் seam angle consistent-ஆ இருக்கணும்.

Profile language vs chat language

Your profile language controls the interface (menus, buttons, labels). Your chat language controls what language the AI responds in. You can set these independently — for example, keep the interface in English but receive coaching advice in Tamil.

Tip: You do not need to type in your selected language — you can type in English and still receive responses in Hindi (or any other language). The AI follows your language preference regardless of what you type in.
