Match Scenarios
Sharpen your tactical thinking with AI-powered match situation analysis.
Cricket is as much a mental game as a physical one. Yorker's match scenario feature helps you think through game situations like a captain or senior player.

How to use it
Ask the AI about any match situation. The more context you give, the more specific the tactical analysis. For example:
- "It is the 18th over of a T20, we need 28 runs off 15 balls with 6 wickets in hand. What should our approach be?"
- "I am a captain and the opposition opener is scoring freely off my off-spinner. What field changes should I make?"
- "We are 120/3 at tea on day one of a club match on a flat deck. What should our strategy be for the evening session?"
What you get back
The AI will provide:
- Tactical analysis — A breakdown of the situation and the key factors to consider
- Recommended approach — Shot selection, bowling plans, or field placements depending on the scenario
- Risk assessment — What could go wrong and how to mitigate it
- Historical context — References to how similar situations played out in professional cricket
- Field placement diagrams — Interactive visual field settings when relevant
Sample scenario
You: T20 match, we are bowling. Opposition needs 42 off the last 3 overs with 7 wickets in hand. Their set batter is on 65 off 44 and likes to hit over mid-wicket. I have a left-arm spinner and a right-arm fast bowler available. Who bowls what?
Yorker: With 42 off 18 balls and a set batter who favours the leg side, here is the plan:
Over 18 (left-arm spinner): Bowl now while the required rate is still manageable for the batter — he will be tempted to accelerate. Push the field back on the leg side: deep mid-wicket, deep square leg, long-on. Bowl a stump-to-stump line into the rough outside off, varying pace between 82–88 km/h. The set batter's strength is his mid-wicket hit, so take that option away and force him to go against the spin through the off side.
Overs 19–20 (fast bowler): Save your death bowler for the final two overs. Yorkers on leg stump, wide yorkers outside off, and the occasional slower bouncer. Field: deep point, long-off, fine leg, third man on the boundary.
Scenario types
You can explore scenarios for any format and any situation:
- Batting scenarios — Run chases, partnerships, powerplay strategy, death overs
- Bowling scenarios — Defending totals, field placements, bowling changes, spell planning
- Captaincy scenarios — Toss decisions, batting order, DRS reviews, match management
- Fielding scenarios — Close catching, boundary positioning, run-out opportunities
Tip: You can ask follow-up questions to drill deeper — "What if the batter hits two sixes in a row in over 18? Do I still keep the spinner on?"
